Valkyries Fall

Announcements

Upcomming Features

14 June 2020

Not so much as an announcement, but a look into what to be coming to the game in the next weeks and months.

  • Settlements - This is the next "big" feature. Players will be able to name their own little slice of space and call it their home. Upgrade buildings, build an army and make ships to set off and raid other places. And even attack other people. This will be as balanced as possible, to be fair for both free and paid players.
  • Alliances - This ties in with the settlements. waging war upon eachother and attack settlements will grant you points as well as bonuses, which can be used to upgrade your alliance and grant benefits for the group!
  • Daily and Weekly tasks - These are little things for you to do each day and gain rewards. Get some extra free diamonds fo doing simple things each day and achieving goals throughout the week. There will be individual goals and alliance based goals.
  • Valkyrie Shards - Killing Valkyries can be tedious if you're looking for those precious star items but don't seem to have any luck. If an item doesn't drop, you'll have a good chance to get a shard. These shards can be traded in for items when you have enough of them!
  • Alliance Raids - Group activities with bosses and loot for the group! (Requires alliances to be completed first)
  • PvP Dueling - This will be difficult to make fair, so will require a lot of work. But it is on the cards for the future of the game.
  • Runes - Additional equipment that can grant you unique bonuses in battle.
  • Accumulative daily login bonuses - Getting more/higher rewards for logging in for consecutive days.
  • Quests - There's not many quests in yet, but this will be addressed with many new quests, a story, and tons of rewards and special items for everyone!
  • Mission variants - More mission types other than kill and collect 10x less as an item. Give more variety, with a variety of different rewards.
  • Additional Achievements - More accomplishments and more stuff for you all to acquire! Based on new additions to the game and extending upon achievements available for current functionality.
  • Weekly Competitions - Weekly kill comps. Doing this purely on kills so fair for everyone. Person who gets the most kills, get a prize. There will be runner up prizes too. Those who won, wont be able to compete for a week, allowing more people the chance to win.

I've probably missed a bunch of things, this is just what i can remember right now. I'll continue to add to this list as it comes. But worry not, there's plenty enough coming for everyone.

Phantom Tests

14 June 2020

Those of you that have complained about receiving a test and then missing it for whatever reason can rejoice. If you miss a test and are still within the timer, the next time you try to attack, it will reappear.

Rewrites and cleanup

12 June 2020

The tops lists has been rewritten to be less heavy on the server when requested. This now queries a cahce rather than the database directly. While it's still not entirely quick, it's better than what it was.

I've fixed an issue with the mod warning command.

Fixed health showing a decimal sometimes incorrectly.

Fixed a couple of hard coded spelling issues.

Need for speed Pt 3

07 June 2020

I've release the 3rd stage of the speed fixes that I had planned and removed the last stacked call when attacking.

Moved some other code that was being used on every page, to only be on the page its actually used. Which means less things loading in unnecesarily.

With these changes, I'm no longer changing some partials constantly. Which means I have now been able to add an animation for the exp increases from battles. Providing you dont level up each fight, you'll be able to see it happen.

Jackpot

05 June 2020

There is now a small chance to get a jackpot reward of 1,000 diamonds when loggin in!

I have changed how daily login is handled, so that it no longer requires a scheduled task. That task now just outputs the system message to say it's a new day. This should remove those occasional conflicts when a player does an action at the same time.

Streamlined the chat display slightly removing an additional query.

Changed how the chat cleanup works so that it deletes items singularly form the cache as they get removed, rather than reindexing the whole cache, which is more costly.

I have also removed the messages from the chat cleanup task, so that during quieter periods, its not "spammy".

Chat Cleanup

04 June 2020

I've altered how the chat clean up works.

Now, instead of being attached to the daily reset, it's now its own task. this task also run hourly to keep the chat clean throughout the day. There willl only be 3 hours worth of chat in cache at any time.

Chat Updates

03 June 2020

It's now been made so that chat will only update if there's new items for it to update. This will lower traffic to and from the server and also allow for a better playing experience when it comes to doing other actions.

Moderators now actually have the ability to formally warn and mute players if necesary. We hope to never user it as you're all such a lovely community. But they're there just in case.

Need for speed pt 2

01 June 2020

I have done some further work on the UI updating to allow for yet even faster gameplay.

I have a need for speed Pt1

30 May 2020

I have made the first update in a series of changes to help alleviate some of the lag we experience during the busier hours of the day. I still have work to do, but this should already be a very noticible difference for you all.

Additionally, I have made some small security changes, which should have also free'd up some processing power, hopefully also helping to contribute to the games speed increases.

Autobots, Roll out.

29 May 2020

There's been a lot of public talk lately about the use of scripts and bots to play the game.

This has always been against our Terms of Use and is in fact a bannable offense.

While yes, I've stated that it's against the rules, but I don't have the time to enforce it, there are now moderators in the game to help alleviate some pressure from me. These moderators will be able to enforce that the rules of the game are adhered to.

Auto attacking is a feature in the game for a reason. Please don't attempt exploit the system, when I've already inbuilt something that can allow you to play idly. It's also unfair to those that have gone about it legitimately.
